Emilie S. Kraft joined James & Hoffman as an associate in March 2008.  Before joining the firm, she worked as law clerk to the Honorable James H. Hancock, U.S. District Court Judge in the Northern District of Alabama and as a staff attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.  Ms. Kraft earned a BA, summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama in 2002 and a JD, magna cum laude, from the University’s Law School in 2005.  She served as an Articles Editor of the Alabama Law Review and was a member of an award-winning moot court team.  During law school, Ms. Kraft worked at the Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program and the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project and served as a student attorney in her law school's civil and children's rights clinics.  Her work has appeared in the Alabama Law Review and Congressional Quarterly’s Encyclopedia of the First Amendment.  Ms. Kraft is a member of the District of Columbia and Alabama Bars and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
