From the firm’s inception, James & Hoffman has maintained a small but active corporate practice, providing advice and representation on corporate structure, formation and governance matters to clients who find it advantageous to conduct their activities in corporate or quasi-corporate forms. Much of the firm’s corporate practice involves representation in the non-profit sector, including labor-management cooperative ventures in such areas as training, education and employee welfare, and organizations formed to address public issues and concerns. A substantial part of the firm’s corporate work has grown out of client relationships developed in other areas of the firm’s practice. The firm now regularly represents clients in founding and developing for-profit entities in such diverse fields as biotechnology, economic and political consulting, communications and psychological counseling.
