Jesse believes that all workers deserve dignity, livable wages, good healthcare, and a union.

Jesse Tripathi represents unions and workers before federal and state courts, tribunals, and administrative agencies in cases involving wrongful terminations, wage theft, discrimination, forced arbitration, and union busting.

Before joining the firm, Jesse did a fellowship in the General Counsel’s office of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), where he litigated complex cases in state and federal court, represented workers before federal and state agencies, and helped build the California Fast Food Workers Union, a groundbreaking effort to organize fast food workers statewide. Prior to SEIU, Jesse served as in-house counsel to UNITE HERE Local 19 in San Jose, representing hotel, food service, and casino workers in grievance proceedings, contract negotiations, and unfair labor practice cases.

Jesse graduated from Yale Law School, where he was a member of the Veterans Legal Services Clinic and the San Francisco Affirmative Litigation Project. He represented a class of more than 10,000 veterans in federal benefits litigation and helped secure recognition of organizing rights for National Guard members. He also assisted the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office in public-interest litigation challenging federal policies and corporate misconduct.

Before law school, Jesse worked as a political organizer, including in a presidential race. His 0-2 record helped push him toward law school. He earned a B.S. in Quantitative Economics and Philosophy from Tufts University. His cat is haughty, tyrannical, and temperamental, but he loves her nonetheless.

Jesse is a member of the California bar. His admission to the District of Columbia bar is pending and he is supervised by principals of the firm.
